What Is Telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry is the use of two-way real-time interactive audio and video between places of lesser and greater psychiatric expertise to provide and support health care and psychiatric care when distance separates participants who are in different geographical locations.
Telepsychiatry will be completed via two-way real-time interactive audio and video. Medications prescribed and managed will be according to current national and local standards of care and following current practice guidelines on file.
Who Can Benefit From This Service?
Telepsychiatry offers Individual, Family, and Group counseling/therapy. Licensed Clinicians providing Telepsychiatry will do so utilizing nationally accepted models that are evidenced based and measurable. Based on the consumer’s needs, we utilize SAMHSA materials on self-esteem, psycho-education, and wellness/recovery, etc. Our endorsed program measures progress based on achievement of goals through well-documented notes by the Licensed Clinician.
How Does It Work?
YES uses an interactive audio and video telecommunications system that permits real-time communication between the distant site, and the beneficiary, at the originating site. Strong internet or bandwidth is critical to have a clear and optimal web experience. YES uses state of the art technology to provide a pleasant video-web-conference.
Telepsychiatry allows patients to receive specialized behavioral health treatment, from the comforts of their communities, through a Medicaid-approved site. Telepsychiatry offers a greater quality of care as it truly addresses the consumer needs, regardless of location, while providing a greater continuity of care and an increased range of mental health services for patients.
