Mission Statement
The mission of the YES Foundation is to provide free resources to the community in which we serve that will help against poverty. The YES Foundation is committed to offering food and clothing to families that will improve their quality of living.

Vision Statement
Our vision is a community where everyone’s basic needs are met. To bring that vision into reality The YES Foundation will feed the poor, comfort the afflicted, and provide for or assist in coordinating services to the homeless and those in need.

Ending Hunger
During emergency situations the YES Foundation will partner with the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army and other charitable trust organizations to provide hot meals for those who take refuge in local emergency shelters. We also will supply meals for mobile canteens that serve both victims and emergency workers.

Financial Donations Needed
We rely totally on the compassion of individuals, churches, and local businesses for our funding. As a non-profit organization we are dedicated to feeding the hungry, we gladly recognize and very much value any and all donations.

Food Donations Needed
Our most pressing needs are for the food items listed below:

  • Canned fruits (peaches, pears, pineapple, applesauce, fruit cocktail)
  • Canned soups (cream soups, tomato soups
  • Canned tuna and pink salmon
  • Canned tomato products & spaghetti sauce, rice and pasta (spaghetti, macaroni, wide noodles), preferably in bulk.
  • Canned vegetables (mixed vegetables, carrots, peas, corn, yams, beans, etc.)
  • Large tea bags

Please deliver all food donations to the YES Foundation on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s between 8 a.m. and noon. If you are unable to deliver the food yourself, please call 252-258-7591 during these same hours and we will arrange to have your donation picked up.

Our Volunteers

We have an ongoing need for volunteers if you are a person that enjoys cooking, helping out in the kitchen or serving meals and or just demonstrating hospitality as a volunteer especially during the summer months. We need drivers to deliver meals to shut-ins, the elderly, and those recovering from illness or surgery. And we also have some specific needs for:

  • volunteers to collect donated foods from supermarkets and other businesses;
  • people willing to help with administrative
  • substitutes willing to drive or help in the kitchen on short notice;
  • bakers to prepare desserts (pies, cakes, etc.) at home and deliver them to the Soup Kitchen;

If you would like to volunteer, please send us your name, phone number, and the type of volunteer work you prefer, either to our mailing address or our email address, and someone will contact you.

To arrange for home delivery of a daily meal to a person living in the areas we serve, please call us at 252-258-7591, Monday , Wednesday and Friday between 8 am and noon.
